Behind this ease sits a family project shaped by curiosity, taste, and a respect
for the way life flows. Here, culture, creating, movement, gastronomy, nature,
learning, and rest are not separate chapters; they inform one another. That
perspective is woven into every layer of the experience, from how the spaces
are organized to how time is lived within them.
Our work is guided by a clear set of values: a holistic view of wellbeing and
culture; experiences that are hands-on and participatory; gastronomy shaped
by the season; an “at home” sense of comfort; responsibility toward the land

In the early 2000s, the Mimaroğlu family discovered Alaçatı through the wind, the sea, and the simplicity of the town’s rhythm. What began as a return, year after year, became a decision to build a place defined by ease: relaxed, well made, and open to ideas.
Over time, the project grew into something larger than a home. A garden began to produce, workshops started to take shape, long tables gathered people, and the land quietly suggested what it wanted to become.
Bernadet’s multidimensional spirit stems from that evolution: learning by doing, creating by hand, sharing what is discovered, and allowing different interests to coexist without forcing a single identity.
The name is a tribute to Berna Tunalı Mimaroğlu, whose taste, curiosity, and generosity set the tone. Her presence is felt in the way the house hosts: with warmth, refinement, and an affection for detail. Bernadet carries that sensibility forward, shaped by family, friends, and a growing circle of returning guests.

Across Bernadet, objects and artworks are chosen with the same instinct: they should belong to the life of the house. They add depth quietly, reveal themselves over time, and invite attention without demanding it.
A curated collection of archaeological objects is housed in the Reading and Meditation Room, cared for with continuity and respect. Across the property, glass, stone, wood, ceramics, and utilitarian vessels, many dating back 150 to 350 years, appear naturally alongside contemporary design, creating a calm dialogue between past and present.
Large olive oil and wine jars, and handblown forms are part of this atmosphere. The art program follows the same approach: personal, selective, and quietly present. A significant portion of the works are by Kirkor Sahakoğlu, complemented by other contemporary Turkish artists throughout the house.
