The Journey of a Passion Turned into Bernadet

Berna Tunalı Mimaroğlu is Bernadet's one and only inspiration. Berna is a beloved wife, mother and friend. A passionate artist and designer with a taste for art, decoration, fashion, jewelry, food and wine, and a skilled hostess in the kitchen. An enthusiastic athlete, a curious spiritual. A traveler who embraces nature, cultures, experiences and people with a sincere love. A conscious consumer who blends her unique style with humility. Compassionate and philanthropic.

In 2017, when we were preparing to build and sell 4 villas on the land that we had bought with Berna's desire to build a hotel, we realized that we had returned to her hotel idea for different reasons and without realizing it, and we felt in our hearts that if it was going to happen, it had to be a Berna project.

Even before the concept and roadmap were fully formed, we decided to name the project Bernadet, inspired by Berna's “Berna of Bernadette”, which Berna used for convenience when traveling abroad. Our holistic and experiential concept was almost spontaneously formed with the inspiration we took from Berna's traits and multifaceted interests. Her affectionate and sincere social presence and the friendships she made without discriminating between culture and class became the starting point for Bernadet to become a space for cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary sharing and development.

Not long after, a stone/metal brooch that Berna designed and produced in the 90's was incorporated into the Bernadet logo, as if it was envisioned to contain many concepts and mysterious messages that the family wanted to be in the spirit of the project.
